Fall Bike & Carpool to School day: Thursday, Sept. 27
Posted by Adam Feerst on behalf of Sustainability Committee on 9/13/2018
This is an opportunity to explore different and more environmentally friendly ways to get to school, to meet (perhaps new) neighbors with whom your kids can bike and you can carpool, to learn about new and safe bike routes to Stanley, and just to meet new Stanley neighbors. We've done this in the spring, but we wanted to try this early in the school year too.
We are planning group rides from the following neighborhoods: Congress Park, Hilltop/Crestmoor, Mayfair, north Lowry, S & SE Lowry, E Colfax, N & S Stapleton, possibly Wash Park. If yours is not listed and you are interested in one, please let us know.
We are also recruiting neighborhood leaders. The role of a leader is to reach out to neighbors, designate a meeting time and location (can be your house), design a safe route to school, and help guide the ride. We can help with all of that. If you are already part of a regular biking group or ride alone, please let us know so we can incorporate that into the rides that day.
