Time, Talent & Treasure
Stanley’s culture of giving is a significant part of our school identity. For over 40 years, the guiding educational principles of a Stanley education have remained steadfast with the help of our generous donors and supporters who give their time, talent, and treasure to ensure we can support each and every one of our students in the best possible way. Stanley is committed to individualized learning and inclusiveness, both of which are made possible by supporters who share our belief in Stanley's vision, mission and values.
In the ways our mission calls us to value the distinct contribution of every child, so too, do we value and celebrate the vast array of contributions made by our parents, families and broader community. Visit us and let us help you find a role at Stanley that matches your mission. All giving matters and all giving counts.
Volunteering: Stanley invites parent participation in a values-based way. The success of our community relies on the involvement and engagement of each and every one in our midst, and we value the array of contributions made by our parents. To find out more about volunteer roles at Stanley, visit our Volunteering site.
Events: Each spring, we host a financially significant fundraising event, like the Stanley Auction or Bulldog Fest. We count on our community members to participate in ways that suit them best. To learn more about sponsoring these events, please contact the Office of Community Engagement.
The Stanley Fund: Gifts to our vital annual campaign, the Stanley Fund, directly benefit each student and staff member by supporting every aspect of Stanley including scholarship support, endowment, staff compensation, faculty bonuses, arts and education programs, technology and athletics.
Planned Giving: Stanley's Community Engagement team can work with you to create a planned gift that fits your financial interests and circumstances. A complement to our annual Stanley Fund, this program invites community champions to name Stanley BPS as a beneficiary in a number of methods such as wills, life income trusts, individual retirement accounts, reitrement plans or life insurance designations. Planned giving also gives you charitable deducations for the full market value of assets and pay no capital gains tax on transfers, all while supporting the long-term sustainability of our school.
Endowment: Endowment funds provide ongoing support for Stanley and our programs. As of July 31, 2019, our endowment totals $7.2 million thanks to the generosity of numerous donors. The majority of our endowment is dedicated to faculty support and professional development and scholarship. Each year, an average of four percent of the income generated by the school’s endowment funds is used to support the school’s operations. Remaining earnings are reinvested into the endowment to ensure Stanley’s continued growth and financial strength.
Establishing an Endowment Fund at Stanley BPS:
- A minimum of $100,000 is needed to establish a named, endowed scholarship to provide an annual subsidy for financial aid for future students to attend Stanley
- A minimum of $50,000 is needed to establish a named fund for other restricted programmatic areas such as faculty wages/compensation, professional development, facilities, technology, social-emotional learning, cross-curricular and off campus programs, arts and athletics
- A minimum gift of $25,000 is needed to establish an unrestricted named fund. The income generated from these funds is used for operational needs as determined by the Stanley Board of Trustees on an annual basis
Welcome from Our Office of Community Engagement
Our mission: To engage parents, students, alumni and staff in ways that value their individual contributions to our school. We welcome and encourage the many ways each member of our community plays a part – through volunteer participation, the contribution of time, individual talents and the giving of financial resources.
The Stanley BPS COVID Support Fund was established in April 2020 to provide tuition assistance to families with increased financial need due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We are delighted to announce that the Wege Foundation and the Goodwillie family have pledged their support by offering a matching grant: All contributions to the fund will be matched, dollar for dollar, up to $20,000.
If you are interested in making a contribution to the COVID Support Fund, you may do so securely at stanleybps.org/donate or by contacting the Office of Community Engagement at email@example.com.
The people in the Stanley community are the heart and soul of our school. Thank you for making a gift to support our families.
