What has stood out most to us is the number of truly special teachers who really see our kids—recognizing what makes them unique, understanding our concerns, and allowing us to be ourselves. That’s what makes Stanley special to us.

What has stood out in your experience here? The community and the people. Stanley draws a widely diverse, but at the same time likeminded, group of families and faculty. Social gatherings are guaranteed to be filled with scintillating conversation and new friends at every turn. The community is such a strong one that Stanley becomes the fabled “village” it takes to raise a child.

Special connection your child has made: The most special connection our son has made at Stanley is with his entire TK class. If you asked him who his best friend is, he wouldn’t pick just one—he’d proudly name every single classmate. That sense of closeness and inclusion has meant so much to him and to us. It’s a testament to the environment Stanley creates—where every child feels seen, valued, and connected.

What drew you to Stanley? We loved that Stanley promotes many of the values and skills that are important to our family, such as individuality, independence, positivity, and responsibility to our community. We also believe the embedded social emotional curriculum is invaluable.

What keeps you at Stanley? What keeps us at Stanley is the strong sense of belonging our kids feel. They know about all the big and small milestones they’ll reach at each stage—like the 2nd grade bowling trip, the 5th grade musical, or the various overnight trips from 3rd grade leading up to the 8th grade England trip. They talk about “when it’s our turn” with excitement and eagerly look forward to these experiences.

What keeps you at Stanley? One thing that stands out about Stanley is everyone's - parents, faculty, staff, volunteers - commitment to the community and especially the students. Stanley's amazing diversity is one of the reasons we felt it was a unique opportunity for our daughter.  Diverse learning environments is what the world is all about, and having a place to teach that to your child is amazing.

Special connection your child has made: Our 7th grader has made a wonderful connection with her 6th grade language arts and social studies teachers. Both took the time to listen to her and allowed her to explore her passions. Meanwhile, our 4th grader loves his teachers in 3, 4, 5, and he is delighted to have the addition of science and technology in his curriculum.

Have you been involved? There are numerous ways to be involved at Stanley. I've enjoyed wearing many hats from leading the K12 sock hop, serving as a classroom room parent, helping plan the 8th grade England fundraiser, being an admissions liaison and baking lots of cookies for our amazing teachers and staff to enjoy each winter! My favorite parent job has been being a room parent. I love being able to support (and spoil!) our incredible teachers!
