Robotics
Teachers Grace Reilly and Jason Takahashi launched the inaugural Middle School Robotics team in the fall of 2022, generating incredible interest from our students.
Beyond providing exposure to robotics in the middle school science curriculum, Stanley also offers an after-school Robotics team where students have the opportunity to compete locally and also participate in an international challenge organized by Vex Robotics that attracts nearly 4,500 teams worldwide. These competitions not only test the team’s ability to write programming, think critically and build robots to deliver on challenges, but they highlight collaboration within teams as students problem-solve and constantly tinker to realize goals.
Logan, a member of the team, says, "The best was getting to use our imaginations to make cool bots with our friends. And competition was exciting! We got to participate with other schools from all over with robots we’d been working on for so long."
Stanley's robotics team runs after school during the winter season, extending through March for those teams that qualify for state. Go Bulldogs!
