Fostering Curiosity

In the Stanley Library we help students foster their curiosity and lifelong love of learning. Students TK thru 5th grade visit the library once a week to participate in library lessons, activities, and of course, checking out library books!
Checking out library books each week not only helps students explore new topics and experience new stories, but it also helps create a sense of community and shared responsibility as students learn how to take care of library books and then return them so the next reader can enjoy them.
One much loved tradition of the Stanley Library is learning to be an assistant librarian. In this role, students learn how to check books in and out on the library's catalogue system. This also helps students become increasingly independent library patrons.
The Joy of Bringing Home Books!

- Stanley students can check out books each week
- The exact number grows as the year goes on and typically tops out at five books
- Books are due back in two weeks and can be renewed and kept longer as needed
- To get new books, students simply exchange recent reads for new ones
- Students browse a robust collection of picture books and chapter books at all levels and genres
- We also encourage students to explore our nonfiction collection covering a very wide array of topics
