  • 8th grade Area of Expertise Project

Posted by Greg Chalfin on 5/2/2019

On Wednesday, the 8th graders did a fantastic job of sharing their Area of Expertise projects with their 6th and 7th grade peers, helping them learn about a variety of different professions and experiences that they had in shadowing people in the local community. Their presentation skills were honed, and it was a great afternoon of a public display of learning. Great work, 8th graders!

  • 6th grade science - weather project!

Posted by Greg Chalfin on 4/12/2019

6th grade science students researched and created their own weather tools (wind vane, anemometer, barometer, thermometer, and rain gauge) to be part of a weather station. The process was to research, design, test, redesign, and present to K12 and 345s. It was a fantastic iterative process for our students!

Greg Chalfin

In this blog, Stanley Middle School Head Greg Chalfin opens a window on learning, doing and becoming lifelong learners in our 6-7-8 program.

Greg Chalfin is in his first year as middle school head at Stanley British Primary School. He and the middle school staff are excited to share this blog with the Stanley community, highlighting many of the wonderful moments of growth throughout middle school. Outside of school, Greg likes to stay active, running, biking, hiking and playing basketball and soccer. When he's not on the fields or trails, he can be found exploring new restaurants, reading avidly, experimenting with new recipes, and eating as many gummi bears as possible!
